Celebrating One Full Year in Blogging. The HarryScope

www.harryscope.com

The journey into the blogging world has never been an easy one but truly it has been what I’m proud of.
Today marks exactly one year I started The Harry Scope. I started this blog precisely May 4th last year and I must say it has indeed been a year of new inspiration to continue doing what I’m passionate at-reaching out to the world with a view of helping people sustain their relationships. So amazing that this blog could go this far though the strong will and zeal backed it all up.
I am fully dedicating this one year celebration to God Almighty who has always been keeping and guiding my steps and focus. Though sometimes, I do make silly decisions but God’s guidance has been immeasurable. About last 3 years, I started nursing the passion to blog but then I don’t really know what to blog about, I kept figuring, I kept reading, I kept searching and I kept digging on what I really want to blog about, but truly God guided me into doing what I do now. You may see it as crazy and foolish but really, it’s what works for me, it’s what keeps me going- to see everyone live a fulfilled relationship they’ve always yearned for.
Back then in school, I read a lot and I also browsed a lot on the internet. I get to see people sharing their ideas online. I get to see then giving one tips or the other about what they know and what they are passionate about and a friend of mine once asked me, “Harry, why did you join the people that blogs”?
I told him “The answer is simple”
I started blogging not because I wanted to be among the crowd. Actually I started it with the view of reaching out to the world in my own little way- I needed to stand out of the crowd and do my own stuff just the way I can. I do read a lot about people and their view on some certain topics- I read about Henri of wakeupcloud.com and virtually all his content is base on following your passion and discovering what you love. I’ve always nursed a deep passion inside of me but I really don’t know what it was, but thanks to whatever made me discover it on time. I do have a strong belief in sharing my knowledge to people that comes across me. I feel so delighted to help people in any possible way I can.
I joined the blogging world because I seriously saw that there was a need to be met in our community and in the world wherein we live. You may ask. “And what is this need”? Actually we all see things differently from diverse point of view. You vision may not be the same as mine. In our world today, we only care for just one major thing. Can you guess what that is? Let me help you out. The world cares about getting rich and acquiring large wealth and making fame all here and there. We tend to neglect a meaningful aspect of our life. We do ignore an important aspect that binds people together and that is our Relationship! People no longer care about their relationships any more and that is why we have broken hearts, shattered minds and above all, broken homes.
Seeing some errors and blunders been made in relationships, which has either affected the male and female gender in one way and this blunders made in relationships has crept into married homes, leaving the couples confused and the kids distressed about life. When husband and wife are always having one problem or the other, it sends some kind of ugly signal to their kids and most times, they feel that love can never be seen in the home. My view about blogging is different because I see a need and by God’s Grace and enablement, i want to meet up with that need through blogging.
How the Kicking off Began
Actually, it didn’t start just one day. I nursed the zeal and passion inside of me; I let it burn in me so I can know for sure that this is what I want to do; I started reading and understanding some tips; I made friends with fellow bloggers and that was how I began.
I knew this is what I ever want to do; I had to make plans for it. I worked hard to purchase my first Hp laptop. The first thing that came across my mind was what the name of the blog would be. I had different choices- MyLifeTune; RelationshipOnTheGo. I decided to go for MyLifeTune and then I created this blog with www.mylifetune.blogspot.com.
Gradually, I began from there and until I met an online friend called MicDare Gideon of www.trildeon.com who helped me go on and also tutored me on some aspects as well. I told him what I wanted to do and that I need to have a custom domain asap. He guided me and got a domain from me from godaddy.
“where is that domain Harry?” Actually this is the domain, www.harryscope.com
My visions began to get cleared about blogging and My Scope about life and relationship was what I purchased for.
Designing of the blog was done by my friend Gideon, though it looked somehow shabby then but I must confess that he did a great work then. There was no time to waste since the blog has been created and a domain has been bought, I needed to put something in there, I needed to chip in my voice through writing, I needed to let the world know that someone with a different style is here and I made my first three post titled Should you get into first date sex? I guess you want to have a look at that!
The kicking off was not that easy per say, your time had to go into it, your money had to go into it and your body and mind had to go into it. But I’m proud to say that what doing is worth doing well.

My Experience So Far
Getting into the world of blogging has since then added meaningful impact in my life. Blogging was never easy been in an area where you have poor and unsteady power supply. Sometimes I had to spend money on fuel for my small generator just to make sure I update the blog.
Just as of the time I thought I was doing well and getting some good traffic then, the devil had his own plan. My laptop got stolen about 5 months after. This left me devastated for long and my blogging was slowed down. In most occasions, I would go to the café to update my blog and one funny incident I will never forget is the day I visited one café and I had to use my own modem and sim card to browse while I paid for time-lol. Funny, but I just have to do it because I needed to get my blog going.
Life is never easy and so is blogging. If you think of just getting a blog and moving without passing through the hurdles, then you need to think twice. You need a persevering and a conquering spirit to scale through.
Not having a laptop then never deterred or discouraged me, you know why? The passion and zeal in me is much greater than the hurdles I encounter on the way. I love what I do and I mean to keep doing it to the end. You need a spark that will always inspire you whenever the goings gets tough. Remember that when the goings get tough, the tough gets going that is a spirit I tend inculcating in anyone that comes across me.
As God will have it, I started making friends on facebook, mostly bloggers. I learnt from so many of them. I joined different blogger groups, signed up for different mail subscription like problogger.net, wakeupcloud.com and so many others I can’t recall right now. I tried learning a lot from the top bloggers I meet online. I was gathering tips to help me spice up my passion.
As time keeps flying on, there are many needs that needed to be met on the blog. The template is there to be changed and designed; some gadgets are there to be arranged and some posts are there to be restructured and positioned well. I had no laptop. I’ve never had flair of using phone to blog. I needed something clear to me. I never had something that will do most works for me and that is where the impact of true friends came in. MicDare Gideon helped in template and designing and some other things I never knew then, he was there when I needed him. He guided me in making and positioning my posts to fit well on the blog. God bless you Dare.
I found out that in life, change is constant; i craved to have a better template. As of then, ogbonge template of Jide Ogunsunya was so popular that people were using it like no other. I got it from a friend for a token. The more you grow, the more the light of your understanding is been brightened. I found out that the template I was using then was mostly used by Tech bloggers and I am Relationship. There is no connection between tech and relationship and things working well to those who love God, I met this passionate and strong addicted blogger, this guy blogs with phone, the brain behind www.sabtrends.com . We spoke and shared our experience together and then he directed me another quiet but loudest blogger called Mikhail Suleiman of www.wesharethis.com. He gave me the beautiful template design I’ve ever heard since I join the blogging world. He helped me do some of those linking aspect. I felt proud of my blog and the template was what every blogger yearned for.
One thing I thought was difficult to do in a blog was the template area, I feared it then. I believed it was a sacred place to ever go. But one thing I understood is this, if I do not go inside, how will I tell the story of what is inside? I love to make history and this can happen by telling the story. I dared to get in and I found out what the look of template is all about- a scattered lettering design and codes that I’ve never dreamt of would be. I just keep staring at what the template is all about and how it works. If you are a new blogger and you have no urge to learn, then better quit and find some other things to do with your life. I felt the urge to know what this template is all about. I delved into w3schools.com to find more. It was stressful and most times I found my eyes popping out just at the look of those shabby codes. I learnt a lot and am still learning.
The journey is quit long and worth sharing, but I leave you with this, if you really want to have an experience, go look out for it. Experience doesn’t just come from the sky; it comes from a total involvement in it.

My Good And Sad Times
Everyone does have some good days and some bad days and mine is no exception. Life is sometimes fair and sometimes you just have to take whatever you see out of it. My good time came when I bought my first laptop. I saw a vision of running one of the best relationship blog in the world come true. I saw a dream of reaching out to people that truly needs help in their life and relationship but these dream was quiet cut short a bit when my hard earned Pc got stolen right in my room. Indeed it was a sad day I experienced then.
With hard-work and strong faith in God, I purchased my present Pc with the aid of Eboss Mega Team in Alliance with www.eboss.ng my joy and hope got revived again and I continued from where I left my broken pieces. Sad times I had when my traffic started declining then, good times I had when I struggled through it in the past 2-3 weeks of my writing this article and I’m still struggling.
The recent sad times I had was when I almost lost all hopes of renewing my domain-it was hell for me but the good time came when my bosom friend MicDare called to say he has helped me out. It was wow!! Dare I owe you everything.
But in all these good and sad times encountered along the line both in my personal and family circle, my focus was never lost; my passion never left me and that shows you the kind of being Harry is. God has been faithful in all of these.

Words Of Advice To New Bloggers
In blogging you need to follow one thing and that is your passion. I focus more on that aspect because without it, you will wear out along the line. Blogging is fun and you will be happy when you get into it.

Make friends with people who are ready to impact more into you. Be ready to learn and work with what you learn. Be zealous and committed to the core. Be diligent and don’t let pride kill you when you finally hit the knot.

Don’t walk alone and do not do it because others are doing it; remember you are different.
